Project "Thunder Mug"

Some of the greatest ideas of modern man have been conceived while on the king of thrones, and there’s even a myth that King Sejong the Great envisioned the Korean writing system, hangul, while pinching a loaf. Another great man, Sim Jae-deok, former mayor of Suwon and founder of the World Toilet Association, had his own great epiphany. Tasked with cleaning up Suwon’s toilets for the 2002 World Cup and bringing hygiene and happiness to our johns, Sim Jae-deok was a man obsessed with toilets — enough so that he built and lived in his own toilet shaped house. Upon his death, this house of poo was turned into a museum and park where school children can now squat, giggle and poo all on a field trip. Sounds like fun doesn’t it? :)

Island Escape around Brisbane

Southern Moreton Bay Islands

SMBI Ferry schedule

Brisbane's Southern Moreton Bay has a large diversity of Islands. There are islands you can drive to, others you have to walk to, there are ones reserved totally as a national park and others that are covered in suburbs. You can go for adventure, a quiet family weekend away, camp, stay in a resort, enjoy art or fine dining.

A guide to the Islands of Moreton Bay

There are 4 suburban islands in Southern Moreton Bay that are visited by the same passenger and car ferries. These islands are almost exclusively suburban with some small nature reserves.

A ferry on Moreton Bay

It's no surprise that many people own boats in the Brisbane area and some spend every weekend out exploring the Moreton Bay.There is no excuse not to visit more of the islands more often.
